Holland based Piet Hein Eek first started his Scrapwood Creations in the early 90’s, that had the design industry first take notice of his work.Eek joined forces with fellow designer Nob Ruijgrok and established Scrapwood Designs which have earned them a place among Europe’s most prominent green designers. Their work is informed by a respect for materials and appreciation of craftsmanship. Eek believes that designers should be involved in every aspect of the production process. His studio and factory space in Eindhoven also serves as a showroom, gallery and restaurant. Their materials are mostly reclaimed creating pieces that are functional, beautiful with a strong scene of history.
