1940’s Point Piper
Alterations and additions to a 1940s harbour-front apartment refurbished by Co-Ap a multidisciplinary architectural design practice spearheaded by Will Fung and Tina Engelen in Sydney. The brief called for opening up the classic 19540’s floor plan of rooms that were disconnected from the northerly views over Sydney Harbour. The client brief was to convert the existing three bedroom apartment into an open-plan, flexible one bedroom apartment with a guest room. Most of the existing walls were demolished, only the main fireplace core running through the building was left intact. It was sculpted to provide framed views from the deepest parts of the apartment. The perfect balance of timber, neutral palate with gentle pops of colour compliment the minimalist design.
