Portuguese Spirit

With his roots in fashion, Artur Miranda began Portuguese interior design firm Oiteomponto. And what a firm! Now joined by Frenchman, Jacques Bec, Oitoemponto shows us how a stellar interior is to be done. With one foot in the mid-century camp, and another firmly in the contemporary and wonderful, they embrace colour, exquisite art and lavish materials to create a style of living that is luxurious and personal, which, as they put it, reinforces the spirit of the client. Their interiors are typified by the unexpected: a black ceiling, a geometric mirrored wall, a bed-head that resembles a block of chocolate. You get the feeling that anything is possible and nothing ever really looks out of place, though nothing ever ends up in one of their interiors by pure happenstance. So well considered is every item in each space that it’s no surprise the Oitoemponto studio, in Porto, also doubles as a showroom of treasures collected by Miranda and Bec from around the world. In one word: wow!

  1. Appreciating the persistence you put into your blog and detailed information you provide. It’s nice to come across a blog every once in a while that isn’t the same old rehashed information. Fantastic read! I’ve bookmarked your site and I’m adding your RSS feeds to my Google account.
