Australian backyard reno

Iredale Pedersen Hook is a progressive, young architecture practice with studios in Perth and Melbourne and a rapidly expanding diverse body of work throughout Australia.  This residential project is play on the Australian backyard reno. Extended from a 1930’s brick bungalow redesigning the original traditional architectural language adapting the old style to way people live today. The roof form mimics the Bullnose used to cover the porch of a traditional homestead, made from corrugated metal at an enlarged scale wrapping back above the floor providing an outdoor seat and shelving unit in the living space. Seriously a modern Australian classic as are many of IPH’s unique projects.
