The flipped house
The “flipped house” by Sydney design studio MCK Architects is a 1960’s house hat has been replaced and reflected by a contemporary version of it’s former self, with a focus that now engages as much on the surrounding garden as it does the panoramic CBD view. The original plan and massing were adapted and literally ‘flipped’ with garden elements to create a more expansive connection from inside to out. Details, fixtures and fittings are sensitive to the original home. Filled with natural light, sandstone, timber and concrete this home hits all the right elements blurring the internal spaces with outdoors. Yep another brilliant project from MCK.
