GARDYNE ST HOUSE

The brief for this new house by Tobias Partners was to maximize natural light and ventilation in the living areas, and optimize the magnificent views to the ocean. This became key to its split-level needs in which indoor/outdoor spaces have varying degrees of privacy and exposure to the view. Tobias Partners opted for a horizontal planning arrangement, with family common space at the rear of the property privacy which is also north facing capturing both the sun and the magnificent views. The interior living areas are oriented towards a horizon-edge swimming pool that traces the edge of the site, visually connecting it to the ocean. The monochromatic colour pallet inside and out enhance the setting adding a relaxed calm and charm to the beach side home.
