Swoon…. Revisited

Never has the oft-used word swoon been more appropriate than when looking at the interiors of Jean-Louis Deniot. His interiors are the stuff (my) dreams are made of! They are at once calm, theatrical, extraordinarily balanced and oh so luxurious. Produced with an almost military discipline to exactness, his interiors evoke the grandeur of another world – the beauty is however, that it could be any world, at any time. Never one to be literal in his specifications, Deniot goes above and beyond to emphasize the historical and eclectic in this designs ensuring they cut through the dread of be type-cast as belong to one particular style. Indeed, they are interiors for the ages. When we add in the utter luxuriousness of his material choices – mica, opaline, shagreen and straw marquetry to name a few – we see the sheer dedication Deniot has to producing the highest quality interiors possible, which has earned him commissions from West Hollywood mansions, Parisian apartments to Indian palaces. Swoon!
