perched on a sand dune…. Revisited
Like a set of shipping containers perched on a sand dune in the coastal town of Huentelauquen, Chile sits Casa W designed by 01AR. A minimalistic home divided into two living quarters. The house uses slabs of timber and stone allowing the structure to sit gracefully. Custom designed windows and extensive timber paneling give casual coastal nod. This palette of materials, as well as the use of new and salvaged timbers, elegantly speak of its setting. Designed and built as to serve as a holiday home the single story H floor plan provides protection from the aggressive seaside environment in the central courtyard whilst still providing views to the ocean. The low proportions of the building successfully allow it to blend with its environment taking its colour pallet cues from the surrounding black rocks and white sea-foam .

The architecture and design in this property is absolutely breathtaking. So simple that it works perfectly. We are in love! This is a must-share for our blog… Hope you don’t mind!?
