It takes 2 …. Paddington house

Oh, this house takes me back to my days living in “Paddinghust” on the boarder of Darlinghust and Paddington in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. The streets lined with narrow terraces that belie little of what lies behind the facades. This project by Anthony Gill Architects involved combining 2 large terraces into a single family home. The project developed around a central void with the ground floor living areas opening up on to the north facing garden while the views from the upper levels were carefully controlled for privacy. The interiors are calm and neutral with a very simple palette of materials, the warmth of the oak used throughout is balanced by the white set walls. There is elegant beauty throughout the home.
