TODAY’S SPECIAL it’s where design, shopping + food lovers meet.

I cannot deny that I love food, shopping and design. So when the three come together in the form of a design store made to look like a grocery store I get very excited. Japan’s Schemata Architects is responsible for this melding of wonderfulness, named TODAY’S SPECIAL Jiyugoaka. Just glancing at the pictures shows what I can only imagine is a design-lovers dream. Using a simple but robust materials pallet of existing concrete and steel structure the space is warmed by organic elements of timber crates and plants which also soften the space. Schemato Architects have created an honest space that is brimming with natural light that allows the wealth of home-wares, fashion, consumables and objects to shine. Tokyo is very lucky indeed to have such a stunning store a feast for all your senses!
