Uma Casa by Andre Luque Architects

Uma Casa located in Camacari Brazil designed by Andre Luque Architects was created with a commitment to build around the natural terrain removing only one small tree from the plot preserving the natural vegetation. When excepting house guests the owner did not want her personal privacy compromised so the house is distributed in two separate blocks which is something I can relate too as an owner of a holiday home, personal space is very precious. The owner’s suite consisting of  living, dining and a small kitchen. The second block has 3 suites for guests. The connection between the two volumes happens through a common social area, integrated with an inviting gourmet kitchen. The base of the house is raised of the ground which eliminates moisture problems and improves natural ventilation. The structure of the house is made of Cumaru timber beams which are visible thought the project delivering a tropical nautical feel that is relaxed and sublime.
