A collector of art and furniture enlisted the help of design studio Parallel Architects to convert his 140m2 apartment in São Paulo into a simple and neutral space to showcase his collections. The brief was to integrate the art and furniture into the home allowing pieces like the iconic Favela chair by the Campana Brothers, or the Eames chair, a classic of the masters Charles and Ray Eames to partner with the art. Working with low ceilings tack lighting allowed for lighting flexibility bringing a hip gallery vibe. The simple black and white walls set against the dark floors provides just enough drama whist also opening up the space. The black floors in the main living spaces gives the illusion that the space is bigger and more open. I love this well edited hip home, its fun and fresh and is hits a perfect balance of a galley and a home.
