the coach house
A stunning coach house stable from 1760 has been converted into a spacious house by Netherlands design studio Zecc architects. A mishmash of built curiosities from previous renovations were removed reinstating the historical elements and large spaces. The stable, still complete with hay racks, stone troughs and iron cast horse heads, is used as a living room. The original tack room is now the entrance hall and the coach house has been converted into a spacious kitchen. A pair of high stall doors re appeared after the demolition which created a connection between living room and kitchen. The central staircase made from smooth stucco and solid oak gives a modern minimalist feel to the otherwise rustic build. Upstairs the double hood with rough wooden trusses determines the atmosphere with staircase creating a connection between the second living room with fireplace. Such a magnificent home, I have so much love for this little gem.
