A Phoenix Rising – Wilton House

Carrier and Company has forged a name for themselves designing seriously chic and comfortable interiors for the high-end market (think New York lofts and the Vogue lobby). Having work on Wilton House in 2007, Carrier and Co. was looked upon again to do the house after it burnt to the ground.  A stunning glass enshrined mid-century pile nestled into the Connecticut landscape, the interiors reflect a comfortable and country way of life. The furnishings, a melange of family items, Ikea and reworked local pieces, are subtle and soft with the colour palate reflecting the environment around the house, although still charred by the fire that swept through. With a sympathetic approach to the design and materials, Carrier and Co. have ensured this phoenix of a house is once again a comfortable retreat for the family who are lucky to call it home.
