The Wild Years … Catherine Kwong
With a portfolio of well-considered and beautiful interiors, the San Francisco Decorator Showcase gave designer Catherine Kwong the chance to experiment with new ideas and have some fun with this years showcase home in the Pacific Heights. The result has been a stunning interior based around the wild early years of Mick and Bianca Jagger living it up in the south of France with the living room of the historic Georgian mansion retaining the gracious detail of the ceiling with the rest of the space giving way to swathes silk, abundant brass detail and the most stunning hand-painted floor. The space brings together bold design elements like the huge studded doors, while still preserving Kwong’s well-considered approach with furniture such as the handsome curved-back sofa. This space goes a long way to encapsulating the Jagger’s wild days and brings a whole lot of 70s St. Tropez swagger to modern day San Francisco in the best possible way.
