São Paulo, the urban house.
Located in São Paulo the context of this house was to reference living in the city, the Maracanã house by Terra e Tuma architects is s bold urban statement. The facade is grayish in its materiality with access behind the pattered wall tiles. The geometry of the house is jarring compared to the traditional homes of the neighborhood. The house is a living infrastructure, overlapping slabs which constitutes a succession of perspectives is subtly protected by the presence of large glazed window frames. The use of minimal materials, like stone, concrete and metal are some are bold choices that somehow soften and and work within this context with the garden creeping through the home offering up a touch tranquility. There is nothing superficial about this space which celebrates urban living and I just love it!
