Côte d’Azur
The Belgian architect Nicolas Schuybroek began his career in Montreal, Canada working for INTEGRAL Jean Beaudoin. In August 2011, Nicolas Schuybroek started his own practice based in Brussels, Belgium. This year in 2013 he was named one of the 100 best interior designers by French magazine Architectural Digest and its not hard to see why with his projects diverse in geography and nature. This project the “S house” located in the South of France Côte d’Azur overlooking the Mediterranean Sea is a minimalistic work of art with it’s minimal exterior scheme mirrored within the interior. The S house explores a sharp vision of space and materials, while retaining a feeling of warmth which is quite remarkable considering the materials pallet of concrete, cement sheet, glass, steel and timber. Schuybroek’s work is known for his meticulous detail, you don’t need to look closely at the “S House” to see that there is no where to hide with this exacting detail. Breathtaking …. I know.
