Defining the use of space
How does one improve the design of an apartment located in one of the most popular addresses in Belo Horizonte Brazil designed by none other than the influential late Oscar Niemeyer. That was the mission architect Gislene Lopes, asked to update a unit of 60 m2 in Condo Juscelino Kubitschek in the iconic JK building. The clients a young couple needed a place close to work that was functional with integrated and well-lit environments so the challenge was to stay true to the original architecture when modifying the floor-plan. The choice of colors was crucial in defining the use of each space integrating and harmonizing the rooms . Strong colors, furniture and design pieces were combined to translate the personality of the apartment and the owners .
