On the Tarmak
Dream projects don’t land on your desk everyday, so when design studio Pinkeye were given the opportunity to completely redesign every aspect of the Tarmak brand including logo, graphics and the interior environment, they jumped on board with Vigor.
Standing on the street looking in, it appears that the store has been injected into the building with sections of the shop front looking as though they are bulging out. This same detailing has also been reflected in the interior. Simple plywood panels form angled walls which are detailed with strong geometric shapes. Shelving units intersect through these walls and traditional looking bookcases are cleverly placed so that they appear to be engulf by their surrounds. The edginess of the brand can be seen through the eclectic use of material. The understated plywood palette is combined with a traditional moulded timber bookcases and point of sale. A persian rug take centre stage and offsets the brightly coloured display cubes, whilst a yellow trimmed arch neatly forms the entry to the fitting rooms with striking blue curtains.
An amazing geometric stencilled floor pattern reflects the packaging and ties the brand identity to the space in which it inhabits.
