A signature feeling

Described by the New York Times as not having a “signature style, but a signature feeling: emotional and deeply rooted to the place”, Ilse Crawford is the design guru behind Duddell’s located in Hong Kong.

Michelin star executive chef heads up the kitchen while the interior supports an impressive program of rolling art that become part of the space.

It’s definitely the place to be seen in Hong Kong at the moment and we can see why.  Duddell’s is a private members’ club and restaurant for people who have an appreciation for the arts. An eclectic mix of finishes and furnishings creates a warm upmarket ambience without being overly pretentious.

Linear cut travertine has been used to create scale and repetition in the staircase as well as cladding the walls of the bar. Soft grey walls mixed with hints of brass, velvet curtains and George Nelson light fittings give feeling to the space.

With two floors covering over 2400 sqm, it’s a wonder how the team from Studioilse manage to maintain the vitality through every inch of the venue. It doesn’t stop with the interior, a pleasant surprise awaits guests when they reach the roof top terrace which is somewhat reminiscent of our home grown Ivy. This is one dining environment that feels like the home you wished you had.
