Bacoa Barcelona

After developing the very eye-catching visual identity, design studio TwoPoints.Net were then appointed to tackle the interior of their new flagship site. Bacoa burger joint located in central Barcelona is known for producing tasty burgers and clearly dynamic interiors to enjoy them in.

The use of materials in this interior is the perfect combination of traditional and contemporary creating a great eclectic appeal. A mismatch of coloured and patterned tiles has been laid to break up the long and narrow space. The shape of the site itself certainly provided some design challenges for the team.

By placing a random cluster of pendants at the rear of the space, customers are attracted from the shop front enticing them to make the journey to the rear of the restaurant. Two custom elements of this project worth noting are the chairs and poster wallpaper wall. The chairs were cleverly designed by Bahbak Hashemi-Nezhad with the increasing problems of pick pocketers in mind with housing a “security” wire basket that sits under the seat pad that houses the customers bag while they tuck into a mouth-watering burger. Most of us ladies understand this frustration when dining….where do you but your handbag!!

The poster wall sounds like a true labour of love.  The design team designed over 30 different posters to be used within the space.

They wanted to ensure that the interior and brand didn’t look like a franchise so they hired a small silkscreen atelier in the old town of Barcelona and silkscreened more than 200 sheets, each one slightly different and unique!
