Untreated and Raw
Getting a client to commit to a simple palette of finishes can sometimes be challenging however Dyer-Smith Frey have succeeded in doing so and the interior of the Löweneck reflects this success. Located on the ground Floor of Hotel City Zurich, the new Restaurant & Bar Löweneck boasts an urban yet spacious interior that also reflects the ethos of the restaurants cuisine; freshness, originality and authenticity.
Stripping materials back to their raw form is the key to characterising the urban aesthetics of the space. Untreated rough sawn oak clads the bar front in a sophisticated geometric pattern with a seamless folded tin counter top. Above the bar a lighting feature has been created out of old Edison bulbs with brings a timeless feel within the raw environment. Concrete rendered walls to the dining area combined with basic white tiling reserved for the kitchen and hallways form clean simples lines which make way for the bold aztec prints that cover the bench seating. It is this superlative balance of refined materials against bold geometric patterning that creates a spacious yet comfortable feel not often found in urban landscapes.
