Fonda on Flinders Lane

Burrito, Taco, Quesadilla…you name it, anything Mexican is definitely hot right now and there is no exception for newbie – Fonda, Flinders Lane.

The third restaurant to join the growing Fonda family located in the heart of stylish Melbourne.

Techne design studio are responsible for the interiors and the amazing graphics are by Wild Hen Design.  We love the fact that there are no kitsch Mexican references or decorations.  Bold, playful colours have been used throughout the space and an emphasis on the festive Mexican vibe is prevalent but there are no sombreros or pinatas in sight!

Bespoke booths, banquettes and tables which have a distinct picnic furniture feel where designed by Techne.  Refined timber adds a professional feel to the interiors whilst the lighting design, that emulates the power line composition of a suburban Mexican street, adds an element of fun.

Tiled tables, leather upholstery, raw brick and stencilled graphic add to the amazing palette.  The front façade has been cleverly opened up so that infectious atmosphere can ooze out onto the street below.
