Life at the top

The unconventional design of this 600 sqm penthouse in Tel Aviv is proof that life at the top is rather rather spectacular. Designed by Israel based Pitsou Kedem the entire penthouse is enclosed in glass. The internal spaces, floating within the building’s shell are fully exposed to the city and beyond.

No rooms connect with the outer shell allowing full views over the city. The levels of transparency and exposure are regulated using drapes for shading. The materials used in the apartment’s construction are for the most part shown in their raw state. The floor is poured terrazzo and the exposed concrete wall in the living room is offset with a metal bookcase with gentle dollops of colour throughout the dwelling. The pool is completely clad in dark stone so that the city can be captured in the pools reflection. Along the balcony planters filled with Frangipani trees reflect and continue the characteristic flora of many Tel Aviv gardens.
