Douglas

Created by Lewis Nelson and laminated from green Douglas fir, ‘Douglas’ has been designed with the tree as the core focus point. Lamination steam bending has been used to maximise the amount of product that can be created from a single tree. Using this technique means the less desirable sections of timber can still be used in the final outcome. As Douglas fir is native to the UK and is quick growing it is feasible to have a forest that is traditionally coppiced to create the perfect timber to laminate and steam bend.
