Reworked 1973 residence New Zealand
The original house was commissioned in 1973. Reworking of the residence by New Zealand based Fearon Hay Architects inserts fine steel framed glazing amongst the original concrete columns, beams and shear walls. The concrete is exposed and softened by a sarked timber ceiling throughout. A new sleeping pavilion is set above a landscaped podium integrated into the existing front lawn. New cantilevered concrete pergola structures provide shelter over the entry and reference key elements of the original composition. Sunken lounge room and split level floor plan offer up a sexy 70’s vibe.
