inspired by nature

The house is laid out around a central water court that forms the focal point of the project. Lushly planted roof gardens surround this and add to the effect that nature is evident in every part of the house. This project also demonstrates how technology, planning and design can be applied sensitively to generate a comfortable, luxurious, yet sustainable family home. Guz Architects main endeavour was to create a residence with seamless integration of the surrounding nature and therefore water had to play a key role in achieving that.

Though as architects Guz Architects believe they are in the frontline in terms of destroying nature and using resources and they try their best to create greenery wherever possible through roof gardens and good passive design. In addition they plant trees on our clients behalf to offset their carbon footprint to a small degree. So far they have planted 1,500 trees in the UK and 500 trees in NZ, and will continue to do so with an ongoing tree planting programme. Guz Architects seeks to produce refreshing architecture that is tranquil, inspired by nature, yet human in scale.
