Home Is Where the Creative Lives
I am lucky enough to have travelled all over the world. I am luckier again to have stayed in people’s homes all over the world as a guest or at times as part of a house swap. It was natural then that I was drawn to the following portfolio of homes from around the globe. Together they form a small number of incredible homes represented by Behomm. Home exchange websites are nothing new, so what makes Behomm so relevant to Design Addicts? It is exclusively for creatives whether they are architects, potters, film makers, photographers or indeed interior designers and the homes on offer are breathtaking!
In creating the network, it is hoped that people can travel the world and stay in a home that is filled with as much culture and tastefulness that they are used to in their own home. As the creators of the site, Eva Calduch and Agustí Juste, explain an architect from Barcelona may want to stay with an architect “from Chicago, Milan and Helsinki. Living surrounded by his books, his music, his movies, his neighborhood, his references …” In a way, the home can become a conduit to explore all the design and artistic possibilities a city or town has to offer.
I freely admit that unless it is very special I hate paying for hotels, so the thought of being able to explore the world and stay in stunning individual homes has me planning many, many future trips!
