50 Shades

I have never read the infamous book but this is my type of fantasy. Designed by Milanese studio Dordoni Architetti, under the guidance by Luca Zaniboni, this apartment is flooded with natural light. Apertures sliced into the side and overhead flood the space. There is a serene gallery-like coolness to the space.
Designer furniture by Jean Prouvé, Charles & Ray Eames, Franco Albini and Giò Ponti, mix with ceramics by Fornasetti and other lesser known artists and makers play their iconic role here against the polished concrete of the floor and mid grey on all the walls and ceiling.
Despite the fact this is a very dark space, there are still plenty of moments of ‘light and shade’, and a beautifully controlled depth achieved through the layering of tone. Expertly curated over time this apartment is definitely Milan chic.
