Bond Street Bombshell
Architect James Dixon in collaboration with interior designer Carolina George recently completed this Bond Street apartment in New York City.
I consider this project to be fairly ambitious as there are a lot of ideas competing for attention here. A fine hand has balanced the eclecticism. It is an interesting mixture of traditional elements such as the Edwardian style ottoman/chaise adjacent the hard edge contemporary coffee table – faceted in mid grey. The living and kitchen area is cavernous and this volume provides the appropriate space for such disparate elements.
Pattern and texture is what unifies these spaces set atop a base palette of high value contrast black and white. The saturated colour used in Bedrooms and Far East style sitting room translate into a tint for the wall colour.
Perhaps my favourite space is the study atop the masculine and serviceable kitchen. The brass hardware downstairs is carried through to the Art Deco style brass desk and lighting above. I can imagine myself writing this post from that spot indeed!
