classic Renaissance

Austrian practice destilat recently restored Apartment H+M, a 130 sqm apartment in a Viennese building of classic Renaissance architecture built at the turn of the century. The typical structure of the apartment building was adapted to meet the requirements of a modern living whist keeping the traditional features. The kitchen was integrated into the living area to make room for an additional children’s room that faces the courtyard. A former bathroom was integrated into the newly created children’s room whist the former entrance area which included a bathroom and a cloakroom, was transformed into a wellness-bathroom with a sauna. Destilat created a homogenous, monolithic and virtually seamless transition from the turn of the century to today.
