elliptical house

In a suburban region of Valencia, Spanish architecture firm Fran Silvestre Arquitectos designed a fluid house named the Balint House, a two-storey dwelling in an elliptical shape. The house is placed at the top corner of the block leaving as much free surface as possible towards the southern edge to give a large expanse of garden, while the lateral limits are blurred with vegetation. Taking it’s cues from the architecture a crescent-shaped swimming pool shadows the structure itself, while the surrounding garden echoes the shape as well.

The inner space of the house is articulated through a central void where no curves seem to exist with strong angles, lines and rectangles creating linear minimalist spaces.
