I am currently obsessing over New York, for several reasons! The people, their culture and story and the close proximity to which they live to each other prospers some truly wonderful and whimsical art and design. Located in stylish Chelsea, this renovated five story townhouse incorporates both a bold, modern aesthetic and sophisticated, polished taste from the genius of DHD Interiors. Based in New York City the studio was founded by Steffani Aarons. Known for his beautiful contemporary spaces and homes that are authentic, lasting, and liveable.
With decidedly Modernist undertones the palette ranges from vibrant and playful colours in the family and kids’ spaces to softer, rich tones in the master bedroom and formal dining room. Aarons has embraced the client’s adventurous taste, incorporating dynamic prints and striking wallpaper into each room, and a stunning floor-to-floor stair runner. Patterned carpet is back!
Skilfully layering various statement Art Deco furniture and decorative pieces with ornate vintage lighting fixtures – a natural, easy elegance and essential warmth is created – balancing design elements. This Manhattan townhouse is bold for moments while maintaining subtlety and a reserved chic through finely edited colour and pattern choice.
