Exciting news for World’s Away fans with the recent collaboration from multi- award winning design maestro Greg Natale producing a stunning collection of elegant pieces incorporating timeless design. ‘Greg Natale for World’s Away’ was inspired by the Hollywood Regency style featuring the quintessential Natale twist.
Greg Natale on the collection, “I wanted to create modern pieces of furniture that give a nod to the past, and the striking architecture and enduring strength of the Colosseum provided me with my starting point. I like to work with repeat patterns, and the Colosseum’s iconic arches offered the perfect inspiration. I knew also that I wanted to create slick, streamlined pieces with a touch of glamour.
A more recent reference for me is that glorious world of Studio 54 in its ’70s heyday, when a sleek, sexy yet minimalist style prevailed, embodied by the designs of fashion guru Halston, one of my perennial inspirations”. “The materials I’ve chosen, such as glass and marble, deliver that sleek minimalism, while gold-leaf finishes suggest a luxe opulence. The arches of the table bases, geometrics of the dining chairs and rounded frames of the armchairs all bring a lightness of structure, an airiness and elegance that balances the stronger notes.
With over 10 pieces in the collection the timeless designs include consoles, coffee and dining tables, etageres and mirrors all finished with sleek metallic surfaces. The gold leaf and nickel plated iron tables are featured heavily throughout the range, complimented with marble or antique mirrored tops. Bold yet sophisticated, sexy yet restrained the collection for Worlds Away translates classic indulgence into a sleek modern setting.
