This exceptional Knightsbridge penthouse by Staffan Tollgård has been completed in exquisite detail. A layered selection of textures and materials combine to create a luxurious contemporary lateral living space. Dramatic doors and passages accentuate the elegant fusion of this once two properties into one stately home. Every feature carefully considered and executed.
Brought up in Stockholm, Staffan’s personal style is born out of Scandinavian and Asian functionalism. He uses the Swedish expression of the röda tråden or red thread to explain the design narrative that underpins every project. The thread is the guiding principle of creative endeavour, the core essence that he strives to find in each project. It is the string that binds the work together into a coherent narrative. This narrative in Knightsbridge is repetition of materials, the detail of material junctions and using colour as pause points and “marker posts” to lead the eye and continue the story.
