Parisian cultures and traditions

In the Parisian suburb of Place Saint Georges between the 8th and 18th arrondissement is the home of Luis Laplace. Part showroom and part experiment – as most designer’s homes are – this late 19th Century apartment came with plenty of historical detail. The ornate interior has been masculinised through an impressively on point selection of furnishings, lighting and accessories – which while clean lined and tailored, are still busting with interest, colour and personality.

Through the use of space and light, Laplace’s design concepts are based on local cultures and traditions, selection of materials and colour as well as passion for art and craftsmanship, Laplace combines modern simplicity and elegance. His South American heritage informs his inspiration.

I love the mix of modernist furniture here with true French savoir-faire – a whimsical and playful ever changing home and showroom. I will definitely be booking an appointment next time I’m in Paris!
