Shipped in Cabaret Cathedral
Leading on from the success of Jason Coleman’s Spiegelicious and Animalastic in Sorrento, The Ministry of Entertainment brings us “Jason Coleman’s Razzle Dazzle” and “The Humanimals” performed exclusively in the Cabaret Cathedral in Rye Beach, Victoria.
The Cabaret Cathedral is a state of the art, purpose built Pop Up theatre. The custom engineered and fully transportable venue is created entirely from 24 re-purposed shipping containers which are leased and stacked into a 3 story theatre seating 240 guests in air-conditioned comfort.
I caught up with Jason Coleman’s long-time production manager Mitchell Hunt and Sam Webster whom walked me through the “Cabaret Cathedral”. The shipping containers provide a rigid structure that has been fully engineered with rigging. The benefits allow the show to tour anywhere in the world, with the production company simply hiring shipping containers locally, in-turn reducing the shows carbon footprint and costs. #veryclever
Once inside Cabaret Cathedral, the tone is set with baroque inspired wall paper, a raised performance alter and church pews for the audience to worship the sexy decadence that is Razzle Dazzle.
The cast, Jason Coleman, Wayne Scott, Rachel Kmetko and Garath Jacobs were exhilarating, captivating and hilarious whilst working the stage, walls and airspace. If you are planning a trip to the Mornington Peninsula get yourself a little Razzle Dazzle at the Cabaret Cathedral ! Book Now
