Zoned for life… revisited

This unique property has been designed to cater to a large family of 5. How they use each of the homes zones has been carefully considered by Mckimm Design. Zones for socialising and entertaining are considered with “introspective architecture”. Life here “down under” is all about sunshine and as much a cliché as it is, it’s definitely about barbequing and outdoor dining – so orientating the house to the North West takes in the amazing views across Sydney harbour and bright aussie sunshine.
Off-form concrete is the key material of this building set against American oak panelled walls and punctuations of black steel. Relief and a sense of whimsy abounds with art by Lucas Grogan and Dion Horstmans. However large in scale the house maybe, the way Mckimm has rationalised the spaces the family never feels far apart.
