Parisian apartment … revisited

I often find myself taking life and designs seriously, continuously questioning and justifying my choices. Apartment 108 by Roldophe Parente is a reminder of the initial attraction of design – to create beautiful, functional spaces, manifesting passions and personality.
Performing as both a home and a gallery for someone who loves design as much as I do. At first glance it is a collected, eclectic space, however the finesse of the details in the building and composition of the sculptural pieces continue to reveal themselves.
Consisting of four distinct zones – living / dining, sleeping, cooking and bathing, each has a contrasting, whilst appropriate identity. Crucial to functional small-living, space is used efficiently with ample storage provided. Whimsical surprises lurk within; my favourite (and fantasy), the floor-to-ceiling bookshelves of the moody bedroom which rotate to reveal a pure white bathroom.
Sharp thresholds articulate zones, with the apartment eluding to something much larger through refined materials, deep sight lines, shadow lines and compelling details, such as the bathroom mirrored platform.
A welcome reminder that with considered design, living small is not a compromise in lifestyle but an opportunity for fun and self expression!
