Parisian Palace

When you are a Middle-East Princess, who else to design your 460 square metre Paris apartment in the chic 16th arrondissement than Jean-Louis Denoit? The Luxurious apartment conjures an air of femininity filled with traditional yet decidedly contemporary design.

Denoit’s aesthetic mixes vintage with modern elements creating artistic spaces. Hard and soft, masculine and feminine, traditional and whimsical and at times moments which seem almost surrealist.

The apartment is neoclassical in theme with clean lines, mouldings and cornices that are subdued. In true Denoit fashion this allows the rich palette of finishes adorning the surfaces below to create the mood. Interestingly nothing from the original 125 year old apartment was retained during this renovation, perhaps a reflection on the young princess’s desire for a modern expression of Parisian life.

The gilt resin sculptures by Romain Sarrot adoring the Harlequin upholstered wall is favourite moment of mine in this project. Contemporary and unexpected – its like 24 karat popcorn on the wall! I love it!
