Holiday homes are places to escape, have fun and most importantly relax. For the owners of this house, set in the dunes on the coast of the Baltic Sea and designed by Lithuanian firm Archispektras, their love for kite surfing, the surrounding landscape and also the traditional building methods of the area dictated the program for their seaside escape.
The result is a unique and striking light-filled linear home built so all rooms face the sea and with a straw roof, as is custom in the area. A skylight at the peak of the roof draws light down and into the soft interior of white and bleached timbers. Sparsely furnished, the house is everything you would want from a beach house: calm, inviting and relaxing.
