Classic curves – The Forecast
The return of Classic curved designs are back and it seems it’s been all the rage lately with designers using simple rounded furniture instead of angled and multifaceted furniture pieces. Even Los Angeles designer ‘Timothy Corrigan’ seems to agree ; “Who doesn’t want to rub their hands along a smooth, rounded piece of marble? Touch is essential to design.” The Elysee armchairs designed by renowned French furniture designer Pierre Paulin are pieces nothing less than works of arts, that are not only functional but also sculptural. Parisian ‘Hotel Panache’ designed by Adrien Gloaguen and Dorothée Meilichzon and Apartment Saint Germain designed by Gerard Faivre both are interiors that are nothing short from soft curved lines and hints of traditional hand woven rattan. Add a bit of old-world style with beautiful wall mouldings and for the finer details get your hands onto marble homewares like the Marble Box designed by Louise Roe. The palette table designed by Jamie Hayon showcases elegance with its rounded curved shapes and compelling mix of materials including brushed brass, marble and midnight blue stained ash veneer.
Powder and midnight blues contrasted with soft vintage velvet browns and cloudy greys creates a calming yet warm palette that has an old classic feel.
