I recently discovered a Melbourne based lighting business that takes pride in fostering the spirit of innovation and creativity through their collaborations with an inspiring network of Melbourne innovators. This network enables them to always deliver superior quality and form to Australian and global design community.

Established in Melbourne during 2014 by Michael Dernaj & Kate Steele, Artefact Industries have combined their skils, Kate is an industrial designer with a background in garment construction.  She has developed bespoke products for a variety of projects during her career in the lighting industry along with exhibiting furniture at Milan’s Salon Satellite. Michael was exposed to custom furniture, manufactured in his families joinery business.  With a degree in Interior & Exhibition Design he went onto represent leading brands such as XAL and Moroso.
