Belle – Alessi Design Awards 2017 winner

Belle magazine and Alessi have been on a quest to unearth Australia’s best product designers to create a timeless piece that will fit within the existing Alessi portfolio, exhibit contemporary lines and be imbued with an enduring style that will make it a classic within the Alessi stable.

Rene Linssen is the winner of the Alessi Design Awards 2017 for his beautiful ‘Pearla’ oyster shucker. “We know our Belle readers are passionate about design and we are very proud to be involved with the Alessi Design Awards which encourage and grow Australian product design. Rene’s graceful ‘Pearla’ oyster shucker was a winner with the judges including Italian design icon Alberto Alessi, leading Australian product designers, Abi Alice, Adam Goodrum, Adam Cornish and CEO of Alessi Australia, Anne Sullivan,” said Belle editor Tanya Buchanan.

Renee will fly to Italy in the next few months to spend time at the Alessi headquarters.
The awards party was held at Treetops in Melbourne Museum. Special guests included Luca Alessi, the commercial director of Alessi Asia Pacific, who awarded Rene his prize.
