Balmoral to Manly

As far as family homes go, this one is at the upper end of impressive. The contemporary home, located in the Sydney suburb of Mosman, has been designed by Tanner Kibble Denton is set across two blocks of land and three levels. The width gained from building across two titles has been the house sweeping views across Balmoral to Manly and the Heads of Sydney Harbour. As the architect describes it, “Entering the home, the drama is emphasised by a double volume entrance space with open Eastern views right through the house to Sydney Harbour and beyond.”

Material selection throughout plays a huge role is creating the narrative and identity of the home. Off form concrete, granite and sandstone all work together with geometrically installed timber palling to create a space that is relaxed yet sophisticated.
If nothing else, this project has given me serious kitchen island goals!
