Tree House hotel

Shanghai architecture office Bengo Studio designed the Qiyunshan Tree House hotel in China’s Anhui Province, stacking timber-clad rooms which offer 360-degree views of the surrounding tree-covered mountains. With a total area of 120 square meters, the hotel features two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a living room, all connected with a central spiral staircase.

The house/hotel is accessed from a winding road that curves around the site, and leads guests to a glazed corridor from which they can go down to the lower level bathroom and bedroom, or ascend to the upper levels where the main accommodation is located. The living room and second bedroom are contained within the boxes on the upper storeys, and rooftop deck offers guests impressive view over the canopies of the trees.

The floor to ceiling windows give the guests the feeling of being connected with the landscape and indeed, becoming a part of it. The walls of the rooms are finished simply with white-painted walls and timber floors that match the external cladding, placing the emphasis on the views rather than the interior.
