nature and shelter
Close to the shore of Itamambuca beach Brazil and surrounded by a dense and rich rain-forest Gui Mattos have literally integrated the house into the terrain. The project defines itself by the square shaped concrete slab and the upper slab – an inverted prism supported by columns allowing the openness, enhancing the permanent connection in between nature and shelter throughout all the common spaces.
The low hanging prism ceiling creates a cozy atmosphere, with the internal spaces softened by timber cladding and burst of yellow. I do wonder, how do they keep the mosquitoes out?
