Concrete Lake House
The house on the lake is a project designed for a couple with two children. Located on a sloping narrow plot reaching the shores of Lake Thonon-les-Bains, France. The architect Pierre Minassian architects designed the house entirely made of raw concrete because of its apparent simplicity and its truthful sophistication.
The dwelling consists of two main levels, on the ground floor consisting of the public zones with the sleeping quarters upstairs. The volume of the house results from the assembly of two boxes, the first box forms the ground floor with the second cantilevered towards the lake. The whole of the volume rests on a single column of great finesse which illustrates the duality of this construction.
