A Luxe Bachelor’s Pad – revisited
After spending his days making the world’s most famous faces beautiful, it makes sense that the owner of this New York apartment would want the same for his home. Make-up artist to the stars, Mario Dedivanovic, enlisted young design super-star Ryan Korban (famed for designing the interiors for Balenciaga, Alexander Wang and more) to completely renovated his penthouse on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
First and foremost on Dedivanovic’s mind was to combine the existing two bedrooms to make one large bedroom suite complete with a dressing room worthy of this impressive collection of clothes and shoes. On top of this, Korban was charged with turning the former white-box of a space into a warm and inviting space worthy of a high-flying bachelor. A colour palate of warm beiges, grey and browns was envisaged and applied to every surface (I am in love with the suede walls in the master bedroom!). Following on from this, the furniture selection worked to cement the masculine vibe with unfussy pieces that practical yet at the same time luxurious and handsome.
Korban, who has built his reputation on interiors that define modern day edgy-luxe (thinking furry ottomans that look they might get up and run out of the room), has in this project created a personal and comfortable space that must be for Dedivanovic the perfect homecoming after jet-setting around the world.
