Floating ZR resort

Z9 Resort is a floating retreat perched on the Srinakarin Dam in Kanchanaburi, Thailand.  Designed by Dersyn Studio, the new resort complex is a nature-oriented structure which offers floating or on-land accommodation.
The new resort complex presents a distinctive character with its undulated roof and use of local materials The 3,100-square-metre resort units were transformed from the pre-existing resort materials being repurposed and reused.
The units’ architectural language is based around the natural lake-side context, and the lobby is designed based on lunar direction which offers the resort’s guests sunrise and sunset.
Z9 owners’ believe that one of the best ways to enjoy natural environment is to stay and relax in the resort which adopted sustainable design concept,” said Dersyn Studio. “So, sustainable design approaches, based upon the “3R” concept which are Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, have been used in this project in many ways.”
